Tetris 99 switch4/4/2024 ![]() Thanks to the success of the likes of H1Z1, DayZ, Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds - as well as larger studios now including the format in bigger Triple A titles such as Call of Duty - it really seems as though the format is truly here to stay. Multiplayer games against hundreds of people in a single arena has now become a staple of the industry. With internet speeds around the world generally on the up and up, the genre has become more feasible and more prolific. Tetris Royaleīattle Royale games really took over the entire world last year. So how could Tetris 99 possibly tempt people to buy into the service? Well, this Tetris game is very different. In fact, we’ve already had the excellent Puyo Puyo Tetris, developed by Sega released to the Switch masses. It might not sound that big of a deal, after all the puzzle game has been available on Nintendo consoles in various guises for 30 years. Now though, there’s a much bigger reason to sign up, as Tetris 99 is available for free to all subscribers. Some may have wished they hadn’t bothered with it. With the release of the Nintendo Switch Online service (NSO) in September last year, we got a few classic games from the NES library but not a whole lot else besides poor voice chat support and some minor extra functionality for Splatoon 2. ![]()
